شاهنامۀ فردوسی، فراتر از یک اثر ادبی، سندی تاریخی-فرهنگی است که بازتابدهندۀ میراث ملموس و ناملموس ایران در بستر جنگ و صلح است. هدف این پژوهش بررسی این است که شاهنامه چگونه روایتهای جنگی را نه صرفاً بهعنوان صحنههای نبرد، بلکه بهمنزلۀ عرصهای برای حفاظت یا تهدید میراثفرهنگی بازنمایی میکند. روش پژوهش توصیفی-تحلیلی و مبتنیبر مطالعۀ کتابخانهای است و ویرایش انتقادی جلال خالقیمطلق بهعنوان متن معیار انتخاب شده است. ابیات مرتبط با میراثفرهنگی استخراج و در پنج محور دستهبندی گردید: بناها و مکانها، آئینها و جشنها، زبان و ادبیات، شخصیتها و قهرمانان، و صنایع و هنرها. یافتهها نشانداد که در شاهنامه، پیروزیها معمولاً با حفاظت یا بازسازی میراثفرهنگی همراهاند و شکستها تهدیدی برای نابودی آن محسوب میشوند. پرسش اصلی پژوهش مبنیبر چگونگی بازنمایی حفاظت از میراثفرهنگی در شرایط جنگ پاسخ داده شد و فرضیۀ پژوهش که «فردوسی» جنگ را بهمنزلۀ دفاع از هویت فرهنگی معرفی میکند، تأیید گردید. نتیجۀ نهایی این است که شاهنامۀ علاوهبر ارزش ادبی، الگویی الهامبخش برای سیاستگذاریهای فرهنگی امروز نیز بهشمار میآید و نشان میدهد که حفاظت از فرهنگ و هویت، خود شکلی از مقاومت و تضمین بقای ملت است.
